Poll - Pineapple on Pizza?

Back in 1962 at a restauant in Chatham, Ontario in Canada, Greek immigrant Sam Panopoulos earned a place in the annals of history by using a pineapple topping to create the Hawaiian pizza.

The chef had operated a string of successful restaurants with his brothers Elias and Nikitas when he came up with his famous invention.  Created just for fun, the so-called Hawaiian soon spread around the world.

More recently Iceland's president, Guoni Johannesson tried to ban the topping saying he was fundamentally opposed to pineapple on pizza.  After a public uproar, he clarified that he gladly does not have "the power to make laws which forbid people to put pineapple on their pizza".

Sam Panopoulos dies in 2017 ages 83, 55 years after creating the world’s most controversial topping.
