Over recent weeks, Chris has had a bee in his bonnet over the amount of litter blighting our area.

We should all be proud of where we live and we're keen to back any initiatives that keep Wigan, St Helens, Leigh and Skelmersdale tidy.

So, firstly, don't drop litter in the first place and secondly, why not organise a clean up event in your area

If you live in the Wigan Borough click here to sign up for a community clean in your area?

If you live in the St Helens area, get in touch with malcolmclough@sthelens.gov.uk - he will sort you out with all the kit you need to spruce up your part of town.

It's a great opportunity to do something positive in your community and we'll be visiting some of the clean ups to make sure you get the credit you deserve.

You can find more information on the Keep Britain Tidy website.

We're also keen to get Highways England to remove the litter from the Orrell Interchange (M6 Junction 26) and the slip road at Ashton (M6 Junction 24). You can do your bit by emailing them to complain: info@highwaysengland.co.uk
